When we first met all the animals that we were taking over responsibility of, Billie Jean was one of the first pot bellys to make her self known! At feeding time she would nudge us and bite us! She was aggressive with the other pigs if she didin't get what she wanted. After some time had gone by we were told from the woman who had rescued Billie Jean that she is deaf. It all made perfect sense now, she had to push herself to be recognized, she wasn't aware of our cooing and comments to the herd that the food was coming. Soon, we came to realize that if we just acknowledged her with a pat on the head and made eye contact that she became more calm and patient.
